Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly launched a £60 million bid to sign Barcelona star Raphinha.

Spurs wrapped up their January transfer window with the signing of Swedish youngster Lucas Bergvall last week.

Ange Postecoglou also bolstered his squad with the signings of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin in early January, with both players featuring regularly since their arrivals.

But Tottenham continue to be linked with forward players after missing out on Club Brugge starlet Antonio Nusa and Sport claims Raphinha is on their radar.

Tottenham have made bid to sign Raphinha

The Spanish outlet claims that Tottenham have already tabled an offer worth around 70 million euros (£60m) to sign Raphinha.

Sport notes that Liverpool have also expressed an interest in the Brazilian winger.

Barca snapped up Raphinha for a fee worth around £55 million back in the summer of 2022.

Spurs were also credited with an interest in the Brazil international at the time. But Raphinha had his heart set on a move to Camp Nou.

It led to Tottenham moving for his compatriot Richarlison and it’s fair to say that Raphinha’s move to Spain hasn’t exactly gone according to plan.

The 27-year-old has managed just eight starts in La Liga this term and has struggled to nail down a place in Xavi’s side.

Raphinha has already proven he can operate at a high level in the Premier League after an ‘unbelievable’ spell at Leeds United. He managed 11 goals and three assists in the league in the campaign before joining Barca.

Yet, we’re unsure whether he’s the right profile of winger Tottenham should be targeting at the moment.

The Brazil star boasts similar qualities to that of Dejan Kulusevski and Spurs are well-stocked in terms of options off the right-hand side since Brennan Johnson’s arrival.

Postecoglou is lacking another quality option off the left, with both Heung-Min Son and Richarlison arguably at their best while playing through the middle.
