Former Tottenham Hotspur player Dele Alli could be handed a new deal by Everton in a bid to revive his career.

The Englishman has had a difficult period in his life recently and has not played a single minute of football this season through injury.

However, it seems as though his Everton career may not be done just yet with the Toffees open to extending his stay.

Dele contract offer at Everton

According to a report from The Athletic, those at Goodison Park are not ruling out the possibility of Dele being offered a new deal ahead of next season.

This comes at a time when Tottenham are expected to lose out on a £10m windfall due to Everton not playing Dele this season.

The 27-year-old had a clause in his contract at Goodison Park which meant Spurs would receive a £10m figure if Dele featured for so many games.

However, he in now unlikely to reach the set figure due to Everton’s desire to slowly integrate Dele back into the fold.

Although the midfielder has now returned to training at Finch Farm to step up his recovery.

Dele’s future in football

It has been a difficult number of years for the former Tottenham midfielder who has since experienced a failed loan at Besiktas.

Despite his struggles on and off the pitch, the report claims he is still keen to make an impression in the Premier League.

But Everton’s uncertainty surrounding their Premier League status and takeover situation could play a major role in this decision.

The Toffees have now been deducted six points instead of the initial ten which were taken away by the Premier League.

Further sanctions could land on Merseyside as the club’s takeover situation rumbles on in the background.

The possibility of Spurs seeing any of the £10m transfer fee now seems highly unlikely.

However, those at Spurs will surely now just be wishing the best for the 27-year-old who is looked back on as one of the most exciting players to watch in N17 over the last decade.
