Tottenham Hotspur have had a mixed season so far, showing they have what it takes to beat anyone on their day but lacking consistency far too often.
With the January transfer window edging ever closer, Tottenham will have the opportunity to bring in some reinforcements for the remainder of the season.
Now, according to FootballTransfers, Spurs are in talks with the representatives of a Premier League star they’ve been linked with in the past.
Apparently, the Lilywhites have been in touch with Jack Grealish’s camp over a potential January move to N17 next year.
The report claims Tottenham sporting director Johan Lange came very close to signing the Manchester City star in the summer.
Grealish has a good relationship with Lange and was ‘especially appreciative’ of how the former Aston Villa man handled his move to Man City.
Tottenham apparently consider Grealish a versatile and high-quality option to cover for Son Heung-min on the left and for James Maddison in midfield.

Tottenham fans split over fresh Jack Grealish links
Reports of Tottenham being in touch with Grealish’s camp has split the Spurs fanbase somewhat.
Some supporters would love to see the England international at N17, while others either don’t want him or can’t see it happening.
How likely is Grealish to join Tottenham?
Grealish has been struggling for game time this season, clocking up just 539 minutes of game time split between 10 appearances, and has just two assists – and no goals – to his name.
That would suggest that Man City could potentially be willing to let him go, though it remains to be seen whether this is something they would do in January or at the end of the season, and on what terms.
Another advantage for Tottenham is having Lange in their ranks, as he is said to be on great terms with the winger.
The main issue with Grealish is his wages, reported to be £300,000-a-week. By contract, the highest-paid player at Spurs is said to be Son Heung-min, on a reported £190,000-a-week.
Even if Grealish joined on loan, Man City would likely have to be willing to pay a substantial amount of his wages – and they’d be strengthening a Premier League rival in the process.
As for signing Grealish outright, how much would Man City accept for him now, considering they paid £100million for him and his contract runs until 2027?
Furthermore, how much of a cut in wages would he be willing to take were he to link up with Tottenham?
With that in mind, Spurs signing Grealish in January seems unlikely, unless he and Man City are willing to make serious concessions.
