Tottenham eyeing ‘world-class’ Serie A player who Fabio Paratici said has ‘great qualities’

Tottenham Hotspur are one of several Premier League clubs who are showing an interest in the Juventus forward Federico Chiesa.

The Italian market has been one which the Lilywhites have looked to exploit over recent years following the appointment of their former sporting director Fabio Paratici.

Serie A has provided Spurs with a number of our current starting XI with the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero to name just a few coming from the Italian top flight.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian’s future with the Old Lady is under serious speculation as talks over a potential new deal are not going smoothly.

With just one-year remaining on his current deal in Turin, his situation is believed to have attracted the interest of numerous English sides over his potential availability.

Paratici bought Chiesa for Juventus

This is a player who Paratici will know very well having signed him during his time in Serie A with Juventus back in 2020.

Now, Paratici is not strictly part of the Tottenham transfer discussions. However, it is claimed he is still involved in the process despite his ban from football.

Since landing in Turin, Chiesa has been able to provide Juve with an impressive return of 28 goals and 22 assists across all competetions.

After Paratici had prised him away from Fiorentina, the Italian had a lot of positive words to say about the forward: “Chiesa joined Juventus and we were delighted about it, our judgement about him never changed. He has great qualities and personality. His desire to improve every day and his perseverance are his most important features,” he said.

Chiesa has been able to return six goals and two assists in Serie A this season as Juventus chase Inter at the top of the table.
