Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a summer for the Eintracht Frankfurt defender Willian Pacho.

Spurs have already made a number of defensive additions since the appointment of Ange Postecoglou.

But it seems the summer may see further players added to bolster the backline of the Lilywhites.

Tottenham scouting Willian Pacho

According to reports, the north London club are showing a keen interest in the 22-year-old defender.

It is claimed Frankfurt have now put a €50m (£43m) asking price on their Ecuadorian centre-back ahead of the summer.

But it is not just Spurs who are showing interest with Arsenal also credited in the report.

Spurs have, however, previously been reported to have sent scouts to watch him play earlier in the season.

Tottenham bolstering their defence

The backline is an area which Postecoglou has clearly identified as a position which he feels has needed a lot of improvement.

And that can be seen through the club’s recruitment since he arrived last summer.

Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin have both been added to the defence over the last two transfer windows.

Spurs have even placed some investment in players for the future with the likes of Ashley Phillips signed over the summer.

The young centre-back is currently impressing out on loan with Plymouth Argyle.

But Spurs have seen Eric Dier depart for Bayern Munich which may see Postecoglou demand more defensive additions this summer.

A big emphasis will be placed on squad depth ahead of next season with European football looking likely in some form.

And adding a player like Pacho would be a big addition considering his manaher has already hailed him as “world-class“.
