Journalist Rudy Galetti claims that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Lille striker Jonathan David should Harry Kane leave the club this summer.

Galetti took to Twitter on Sunday and claimed Spurs are searching for a potential Kane replacement.

Kane’s future at Tottenham looks uncertain, with the striker receiving strong interest from Bayern Munich.

The 29-year-old has entered the final year of his deal at Spurs and The Guardian reports that despite a huge contract offer in the table, Kane has no intention of putting pen to paper during the transfer window.

There have been more positive updates of late that suggest Kane has been impressed with Ange Postecoglou so far.

But Galetti claims that Spurs are searching for his replacement, just in case Kane departs this summer, with Jonathan David a target for the club.

Tottenham eyeing David

The Italian journalist reports that David remains an option for Tottenham as they plan for a future that could potentially be without Kane.

Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic is also being considered, despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

David has impressed in France over the past few seasons and enjoyed his most prolific campaign to date last time out.

The 23-year-old netted 24 times in Ligue 1 for Lille and has also bagged the same number of goals in 40 games for Canada.

He’s shown a keen eye for goal during the early stages of his career and also boasts blistering pace.

The Spurs News View

It’s encouraging to hear that Spurs at least have some kind of plan in place should Kane decide to leave between now and next summer.

His future has dominated the headlines during the early stages of the transfer window and Spurs will undoubtedly be hoping for clarity over his situation sooner rather than later.
