Tottenham Hotspur are now set to battle Bayern Munich for a German forward who has kept Timo Werner out of the squad for the Euros.
With the summer transfer window yet to officially open, Tottenham have already secured their first signing of the summer.
After a half-season deal from RB Leipzig, Timo Werner will now return for the entire 2024/25 campaign on a season-long loan deal.
Ange Postecoglou is not expected to stop there with Tottenham eyeing more forward additions having already signed Werner.
And it seems as if Daniel Levy could be closing in on another German forward this summer who is set to represent Die Mannschaft at this summer’s European Championships.
Having already beaten Bayern Munich to the signing of Radu Dragusin in January, Spurs are now looking to replicate their success once again in the summer.

Tottenham looking to beat Bayern to summer signing
After selling Harry Kane last summer to Bayern Munich, Postecoglou has demanded a team effort when it comes to replacing the goals which the England captain provided.
Versatile forwards are seemingly what Spurs have sought in recent years with even Richarlison not an out and out striker.
Eberechi Eze is another versatile player who Tottenham are looking to add to their squad over the coming months.
However, it now looks like Spurs have set their sights on a winger who has just enjoyed the best top flight season of his career in the Bundesliga.
According to Christian Falk, Spurs are now in the running to sign VfB Stuttgart’s Chris Fuhrich.
But Postecoglou’s side are not alone with Bayern also looking to take the 26-year-old from the side who finished one place ahead of them last season.
A move for the winger could, however, be fairly straightforward given he has a release clause of €23.5m (£20m) in his current contract.
Chris Fuhrich could provide Tottenham with an upgrade on Timo Werner
Although Werner is definitely coming back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the 2024/25 campaign, Spurs could well land themselves an instant upgrade in Fuhrich.
The Stuttgart winger also plays off the left side and provided Stuttgart with a return of eight goals and seven assists in the Bundesliga alone last season.
| 2023/24 | Chris Fuhrich | Timo Werner |

Options are going to be needed for next season with the Europa League providing a new format with two extra group stage games.
And having been one of the forwards chosen ahead of Werner, Spurs would certainly be adding a player who has shown his ability to the German national side.
