Tottenham have already confirmed the signing of Andy Robertson for the left-back spot, with more deals set to be confirmed over the coming weeks.

Ahead of the arrival of both defenders, Alderweireld has issued his verdict on both players, and it’s fair to say he is a fan of them.

Toby Alderweireld highly rates Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke

Toby Alderweireld claims that Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke’s Premier League experience makes them great additions for Tottenham.

The Belgian was one of the greatest defenders to play for Tottenham in the Premier League and will certainly know a top defender when he sees one.

Speaking to Talking Tottenham Podcast, Alderweireld revealed: “Yeah. I think what’s good is that they both know the Premier League. That’s good because I think the Spurs now need stability.

“They need to know players who perform every week, week in week out. They perform at a good level.

👀With 12 months left on his contract, how much should we pay at the most to sign the £70m-rated Jan Paul van Hecke?

“Of course, transfer, new club, it’s always a little bit different, but they know the Premier League, and that’s something very important because the next year it’s impossible we go back to this period.

“I understand they are looking for players that are proven in the Premier League, and that’s something we should do; they should have a little bit more security in that sense.”

Spurs will hope that Van Hecke will be able to form a similar partnership with Micky van de Ven, just like Alderweireld did with Jan Vertonghen.

The Dutch duo are set to feature alongside one another at the World Cup for the Netherlands this summer.

Van Hecke is keen to play for Tottenham and be reunited with his former Brighton boss, Roberto De Zerbi, in North London.
