A Tottenham Hotspur player has received an official offer from the Saudi Pro League ahead of the summer transfer window.

Tottenham are set for a major overhaul of the current squad this summer after four first-team players departed on free transfers yesterday.

Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier and Ivan Perisic were released by Spurs and many could follow the quartet out the door.

Plenty of Spurs players have attracted interest from Saudi Arabia over the past year but the club is yet to offload one of their stars to the Middle East.

Both Heung-min Son and Richarlison have been subject to interest from the Saudi Pro League. However, a move for both players seems unlikely at this stage.

Now, Giovani Lo Celso has become the latest Spurs star to receive an offer from the Middle East.

Giovani Lo Celso received Saudi offer

According to Estadio Deportivo, Lo Celso is attracting plenty of interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Galatasaray have asked about the Argentine while Tottenham have also received an offer from the Saudi Pro League.

But Lo Celso apparently has his heart set on a return to Real Betis, five years after he left the Spanish club to join Tottenham.

What Postecoglou has said about Lo Celso amid Tottenham exit rumours

Lo Celso has struggled for regular game time under Ange Postecoglou, managing just four starts in the Premier League last season.

Those starts came during a period when James Maddison was injured and Lo Celso has found opportunities hard to come by since the Englishman’s return to action.

Despite this, Postecoglou was full of praise for Lo Celso back in April, while hinting he could be allowed to leave this summer.

“Through that middle patch when we had a lot of injuries, he really stood up for us and then got his own injury of course. He made a real impact against Luton at weekend and it really helped us get over the line. Look, he’s a fantastic player, but with all these things you’ve got to keep the perspective that we’re at a big club, we’re going to have a big squad and if it is not Gio, it will be someone else that will play that role next year.

“No one will play every game. It doesn’t happen. It doesn’t happen at all the big clubs, so I am never really worried about the game-time players are playing. If they want more game-time, there are other clubs where they can do that and I’m looking at contribution. With someone like Gio, like I said he has contributed to us this year and that’s been the most important thing for me.”

Lo Celso has just a year left on his current Spurs deal and a decision over his future feels inevitable.

It’s likely we’ll see the midfielder head out the door, particularly as Tottenham are looking to strengthen in the middle of the park.
