Former Tottenham Hotspur winger Romaine Mundle looks set to return to England just six months after leaving north London.
The 20-year-old left Spurs on a free transfer over the summer, with many Tottenham supporters disappointed to see Mundle move on.
Mundle completed a switch to Belgian outfit Standard Liege in search of regular first-team football.
But after just 11 appearances in Belgium this season, the Spurs academy product looks set to join Championship outfit Sunderland.

Mundle set to join Sunderland just six months after Tottenham exit
Fabrizio Romano broke the news on Wednesday morning, claiming Sunderland have agreed a deal to sign Mundle.
“Sunderland agree deal for the permanent transfer of Romaine Mundle from Standard Liége,” Romano wrote on X.
“Former Tottenham midfielder returns to England as he’s joining SAFC.”
Mundle was a standout performer for Tottenham’s Under-21s side last season, registering 12 goal involvements in 24 games.
There were plenty of Spurs fans who were calling for the ‘really skilful‘ winger to get an opportunity in the first-team at the time.

It was disappointing to see the Englishman run down his contract last season due to a lack of opportunities. Since leaving Tottenham, Mundle has netted two goals in 11 games for Standard Liege.
A move back to England and the Championship could be a positive step for the Spurs academy product.
We’ve already seen former Tottenham winger Jack Clarke excel after moving to the Stadium of Light following a difficult spell in north London.
Mundle will be hoping to follow in Clarke’s footsteps after returning to England and we at The Spurs News wish him all the best in the next stage of his career.
