Ivan Toney set for summer sale
Over recent months, Tottenham have been linked with a potential swoop for Ivan Toney following the sale of Harry Kane in the summer.
The Evening Standard have claimed Spurs are just one of the Premier League clubs who are monitoring the Englishman’s situation and Brentford.
And that situation has become a lot more clear following the comments made by his manager, Thomas Frank, to the Danish outlet Tipsbladet.
Speaking to the magazine, Frank admitted he is expecting to lose his star player in the summer: “Ivan Toney will most likely be sold in the summer.
“He’ll only have a year left on contract with us, so it’s quite obvious.”
Should Tottenham replace Richarlison?
Toney has established himself as one of the top strikers in the Premier League having returned a seriously impressive return of 20 goals in the Premier League alone.
This has seen the Bees reportedly slap a £60 million asking price on their prized asset ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, Spurs now have their own striker who is showing red hot form in the Premier League.
Richarlison’s return from surgery has been nothing short of spectacular with the Brazilian having netted his ninth goal in his last eight league games against Everton on the weekend.
If Richarlison is able to continue this level of form, it would seem incredibly harsh to replace him in the summer.
And with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea believed to be interested in Toney, it would be easy to see the England international being the subject of a summer bidding war.
