The January transfer window has closed and teams will start to turn their attention towards their targets for the summer.

Tottenham enjoyed a relatively successful winter market, finally bolstering at centre-back with the addition of Radu Dragusin, while Timo Werner will add some relief in the forward ranks with his loan from RB Leipzig. Refreshed and rejuvenated, Ange Postecoglou‘s squad will be aiming for a top-four finish.

Whatever the outcome, Champions League qualification or otherwise, the project won’t end there for the Australian coach. There has been an emphasis on building something that can last for Spurs in years to come.

Planning for the next phase after this season, whatever it may bring in the next few months, will no doubt be underway. There will be a number of targets lined up, however the north London outfit may not have to wait until the summer to confirm their deals.

Some stars in Europe are in their final six-months under contract, which leads to the option of securing a pre-contract deal for a permanent transfer in the summer. With that being said, here’s a look at a few of those that could be on Tottenham’s radar.

Kylian Mbappe transfer

One of the transfer sagas that seems to play out year on year surrounds the future of PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe. The forward is into the final few months of his contract, having rejected the option of triggering an extra year.

It means Spurs could, in theory, make their move for the World Cup winner as soon as today if they wished. However, it may not be realistic given his demands and the project the club are building, while Mbappe to Real Madrid appears to be a more likely outcome.

Adrien Rabiot transfer

Adrien Rabiot is another that continues to be linked with a number of clubs as his deal nears the end. The 28-year-old missed out on a move to Manchester United last summer and has been a mainstay for a resurgent Juventus side ever since.

A deal for Spurs could be huge, though there would be questions over his demands too as well as how he would fit in the system.

Piotr Zielinski transfer

Another midfield option available to Tottenham on a free transfer could be Napoli star Piotr Zielinski. The 29-year-old has experience winning the Serie A title and may be an option that Spurs need to bolster their options centrally.

Other pre-contract options

There are a number of other stars available on a pre-contract as things stands, such as Atletico Madrid centre-back Mario Hermoso or Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez. In the forward line, Benfica centre-forward Rafa and Flamengo striker Gabriel Barbosa headline the available options.
