Jamie Carragher has admitted that he is a huge fan of Sandro Tonali and backs him to be a great signing for Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham remain in talks with Newcastle for Tonali and are working to finally get a deal over the line for the Italian midfielder.

Tonali is open to joining Tottenham, and it looks like De Zerbi will be able to get the midfielder he is desperate to bring to Spurs.
Carragher has been assessing the potential signing of the Italian international and it’s fair to say he is a huge fan of the move.

Jamie Carragher believes that the signing of Sandro Tonali proves that Roberto De Zerbi has been given huge control at Tottenham.
The North London club will have to smash the transfer record to sign the player, and the Lilywhites look prepared to do so to bring in De Zerbi’s top target.
The former Premier League defender has also admitted that he would have taken Tonali at Liverpool this summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher said: “De Zerbi has come in and done a really good job, I think he’s got a lot of power at that club right now, probably the most powerful he’ll ever be, unless he wins a big trophy.
“He’s putting his foot down, he wants players in quickly before the start of pre-season. Tonali is a midfielder I really rate.
“He’s got everything. He’s got energy, he’s got control, and he’s got a defensive bite to him as well. He’s a player I thought about for Liverpool.”

Tottenham are set to bid over £87 million for Tonali, according to Alfredo Pedulla, and that could be enough to get the deal done.
However, it could mean the end for Lucas Bergvall, who has asked to leave the club in search of more game time.
