French defender Loic Bade has admitted he is happy at Sevilla after admitting Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest in him.

A number of defenders are emerging as potential summer targets for the Lilywhites and it appears the former Nottingham Forest man is one of them.

However, a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may not be on the 23-year-old’s radar if his latest comments are anything to go by.

Tottenham interested in Loic Bade

Earlier this week, comments from the player revealed Ange Postecoglou’s side are beginning to show an interest in him.

The French defender is currently playing his football with the struggling La Liga side Sevilla having joined last January.

However, the player has now been speaking to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo about where his future may lie over the coming months: “[It’s] normal. I try to work, and I try to concentrate on the games. Then it’s football, sometimes there are teams that are interested, but we work,” he said.

“No, no. Better here, I’m very happy,” he said when asked if a return to England is possible.

Tottenham rejected by Bade

Being snubbed by a player is not something Tottenham will be used to under Postecoglou’s reign with the Lilywhites already asserting their dominance under the Australian.

It has already been revealed that youngster Lucas Bergvall chose to make the move to Hotspur Way despite receiving strong interest from Barcelona.

As well as the young Swede, Radu Dragusin not only rejected Bayern Munich in January, but he also snubbed a potential move to Napoli.

Whether or not the £10m Bade is speaking the complete truth here is another question with the player unlikely to admit he’d be open to leaving Sevilla midway through the season.

Over the summer, Spurs could potentially offer him the opportunity to play Champions League football. Which is something he certainly won’t be offered Sevilla.

Whether this is the case or not, it seems Tottenham have plenty of defensive options already on their radar ahead of the transfer window.
