Tottenham Hotspur could finally be set to part ways with Emerson Royal with AC Milan being forced into accelerating their bid to sign the Brazilian.
Emerson Royal has experienced a mixed adventure at Hotspur Way following his £21 million move from Barcelona back in 2021.
The 25-year-old has made himself a bit of a cult hero amongst the club’s supporters given his exuberant personality, however, his performances on the pitch have left much to be desired.
Now, with his contract entering its final year, Spurs are keen to move him on and avoid losing him for nothing.
The defender himself is also keen to leave the club having fallen out of favour with manager Ange Postecoglou who gave him just 11 league starts last season.
Emerson’s time at Tottenham now looks to be drawing to a close with AC Milan accelerating their bid to finally bring him to the San Siro.

How much is Emerson Royal leaving Tottenham for?
AC Milan are expected to seal a deal to sign Emerson Royal following a rival bid from Galatasaray, according to a report from PL Brasil.
Milan have been in negotiations with Tottenham for Royal for some time, and have now submitted a third bid which matches the North London club’s demands.
The Italian club have offered €20m (£16.8 million) that Spurs have been asking for. Now the details of the bid just need to be finalised.
Spurs have been keen to sell the 25-year-old this window with the Brazilian entering the final year of his contract – and they have not been short of interest.
Borussia Dortmund, Al-Nassr and now Galatasaray all submitted offers for the defender, however, Emerson only wants to join AC Milan.
Djed Spence’s Tottenham lifeline
Djed Spence could be the beneficiary of Royal leaving for the San Siro with the right-back having already impressed during pre-season.
Postecoglou praised Spence’s performance against Hearts in which the full-back managed to get a goal and assist against Scottish Premiership club.
Spence has struggled to break into the first-team at Tottenham since his move from Nottingham Forest in 2022 having been sent out on three different loan moves.
But following a strong start to pre-season and Spurs in need of cover for Pedro Porro, Spence could be given a chance to revive his career at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
