Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy paid Hugo Lloris a whopping settlement figure to leave the club in the January transfer window.

The Frenchman’s time in north London came to an end officially last month when he chose to make the move to the United States and join LA FC.

However, he did so having been handed a handsome lump sum off the Lilywhites for the remaining months he had left on his Spurs deal.

How much Tottenham paid Hugo Lloris

According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Tottenham chairman shook hands with his former captain, Lloris, on a £2m settlement figure last month.

It is claimed Lloris was earning £100k-per-week with the Lilywhites as his contract entered its final months.

But having not featured under Ange Postecoglou, the decision was made to allow Lloris leave the club on a free transfer to the MLS.

Lloris left a legacy

The Frenchman’s time in north London lasted over 11 years where he was able to rack up an impressive 444 appearances for Spurs.

However, perhaps just as impressive as his performances between the sticks were, is what he has left behind.

The summer transfer window saw Spurs bring in a new goalkeeper in Guglielmo Vicario and it is apparent Lloris helped the Italian settle in to life in N17.

It could have been easy for Lloris to take little interest in what was going on at the club when it became apparent he wasn’t in the new manager’s plans.

Yet, this is clearly not the case with Vicario saying just how much of a help Lloris has been behind the scenes upon his arrival: “He’s a big guy, he helps me a lot during training. It’s good for me because it’s my first year abroad so I’m experiencing a new culture and way of playing football.

“The Premier League is different to Italy, so it’s a big pleasure to be training with him and many thanks to him for what he’s done for me.”

He may not have featured on the pitch this season, but we can all appreciate what Lloris has done off it with Vicario.
