- Exclusive from Graeme Bailey
Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a bright summer on the transfer front, making several exciting signings for the present and for the future.
Spurs hit the ground running with the signing of Archie Gray from Leeds United and also got South Korean prodigy Yang Min-hyuk on their books from Gangwon FC.
Tottenham then went on to break their transfer record with the signing of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth before snapping up Wilson Odobert from Burnley.
In addition, Spurs have re-signed Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig, and Lucas Bergvall has arrived from Djurgarden after a deal was struck earlier this year.
Transfer insider Graeme Bailey has now shares what he expects Tottenham to do on transfer deadline day.
Tottenham happy with squad as Sergio Reguilon and Giovani Lo Celso likely to leave
“Going into deadline day, the club are happy with the squad,” said Bailey.
“I am told another left-sided central defender and a forward who could also play in midfield were positions they would still have considered.
“However, nothing has come up or proven to be do-able for Spurs. I must admit I thought they would push for a midfielder but with Archie Gray’s progress that is perhaps not as urgent.
“In terms of exits, the club are determined to move on Sergio Reguilon and Giovani Lo Celso.
“They will be very happy if they have managed to find new homes for those two by Friday evening, and it looks like they will.”

Tottenham set for Johnny Cardoso ‘priority option’
With Lo Celso closing in on a move to Real Betis, Fabrizio Romano has now provided an interesting Spurs update.
The transfer insider says Tottenham are now “closing in on deal to agree on priority option to sign Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis in the future”.
In addition, Spurs “will also buy a percentage on future sale in case they decide against signing him.” This is part of the deal which would see Lo Celso join Betis.
This doesn’t seem like a transfer as such, in that it doesn’t look as though the player will be going on Tottenham’s books.
However, Spurs seem to have ‘first dibs’ on Cardoso, so this will certainly be one to watch in the coming hours.
