Tottenham Hotspur are now edging closer to their first summer sale with the club set to receive the offer they want from a European side.

Player sales are going to be big for Tottenham this summer with Ange Postecoglou looking to trim his squad of the players he no longer needs.

Spurs are believed to have a 15-man list of players who they would be willing to sell over the coming months.

Postecoglou has now had 12 months to assess his squad with several players proving surplus to requirements like Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

A number of players like Japhet Tanganga have now been released from the clubs and are free to find themselves new clubs over the summer.

But one other player now looks ready to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Daniel Levy set to accept a bid expected to arrive over the coming weeks.

Tottenham offloading Postecoglou’s unwanted players

Tottenham are not one of the Premier League sides who are in need of selling players this summer to meet the PSR rules.

However, Postecoglou is looking to clear the decks at Hotspur Way having had the opportunity to really evaluate the side which he inherited.

And that could well see Spurs take a hit on players who they have spent a decent amount of money on in recent years.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are now ready to offer Spurs €16m-€18m (£13.5m-£16.8m) for Emerson Royal this summer.

Milan are looking to bring in a new full-back this summer and the Brazilian is believed to be high on their agenda.

The 25-year-old is keen on a potential move to Serie A with Spurs having now dropped their asking price from around €30m (£25m).

With Spurs looking to offload the likes of Emerson, it is believed that Levy is willing to accept the offer heading his way for the Brazilian.

Tottenham need to upgrade players like Emerson Royal

Postecoglou has now had a full year to assess his squad and it is apparent he is looking to improve the quality of his squad.

Emerson came into Postecoglou’s starting XI when injuries hit the back line and that was a frequent occurrence last season.

However, he did not cover himself in glory during his displays from the starting XI and it quickly became apparent he was not of the quality to compete with Pedro Porro for the starting spot.

With a big emphasis on rotating his side next season with Europa League, Spurs need greater quality to bring through into the side.
