Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb in the January transfer window.

Fulham have also registered an interest in the Norway international, who appears set to leave in the coming days.

Game time has been limited for him under Pep Guardiola this season, which has led him to become disgruntled at the Etihad Stadium.

Fulham in driver’s seat to sign Oscar Bobb

Jack Kelly, a reliable journalist on all things Fulham, claims the Cottagers remain in the driver’s seat to sign the 22-year-old.

While he admits that there is talk about Spurs hijacking the deal, Fulham are the favourites to secure his services.

City have made the Norwegian available in January due to the abundance of options they have in their attack.

Antoine Semenyo also joined from Bournemouth and his arrival means that Bobb has fallen further in the pecking order.

Speaking about his future, Kelly said: “There was talk of Spurs hijacking the deal, potentially hijacking the deal. A report came out saying it. I still think Fulham, as far as I’m aware, Fulham are firmly in the driving seat.”

Will Tottenham successfully make a hijack for Bobb?

While Spurs are not having the best of seasons, they still have the pulling power to sign quality players.

They can offer Bobb Champions League football and the opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the United Kingdom.

The Lilywhites could make the winger their poster boy and make him front and centre of another squad rebuilding under the next permanent manager.

That said, it does not look like he is rated as highly by Tottenham as he is by Fulham – and that seems to be what he wants.

At Spurs, he will be one among many attacking players and will thus have to compete for minutes.

Should he move to Craven Cottage, he will most likely be the best player on the team and will be played in his preferred role as well.

Tottenham are better off looking at players who they think will definitely improve their best eleven.

Whatever they decide, they need to arrive at a conclusion sooner rather than later.
