Fabrizio Romano has shared what sources close to Tottenham Hotspur have told him about Harry Kane’s future.

The transfer insider took to Twitter on Monday and shared an update on Bayern Munich’s interest in Kane.

Tottenham have already rejected Bayern’s £60 million bid for their talisman (Sky Sports), and the Bundesliga champions returned with an improved offer yesterday.

Romano claims Spurs are set to turn down Bayern’s second bid worth around £68 million to sign Kane.

The 29-year-old has just a year left on his current deal at Tottenham, but it seems Bayern will have to up their offer significantly to get them to the negotiating table.

What sources close to Tottenham have said about Kane

Romano claims that sources close to Tottenham have guaranteed £68 million simply won’t be enough to lure Kane away from North London.

He said: “Tottenham are not intentioned to accept €80m [£68m] fixed fee for Harry Kane.

“Sources close to Spurs guarantee that this amount won’t be enough for Bayern to make deal happen.

“Bayern want to insist on Kane as they still hope to make progress on this deal.”

Ange Postecoglou faced the media for the first time since taking charge at Spurs today and the Aussie boss was quizzed on Kane’s future.

“I haven’t had any assurances and I wouldn’t expect any,” he said of Kane. “With these type of situations you’re never dealing with certainties.

“I can only go with what I know right now. Harry is part of the squad and looking forward to being back and part of the players.” as quoted by Football.London

Unsurprisingly, Postecoglou seems keen to keep Tottenham’s talisman at the club beyond the summer.

It remains to be seen whether or not Kane will be convinced of the project under the former Celtic boss.

But Bayern will have to significantly up their offer if they are to stand any chance of landing Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer this summer.

While Kane’s contract situation is a cause for concern for the club, it seems they are ready to hold their nerve in an attempt to keep him beyond the summer.
