Tottenham Hotspur have now got ‘concrete interest’ in a 27-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou will be looking to bolster his squad with quality as Spurs aim to play Champions League next term.

And it seems they will be looking to a current Champions League club for one of their forward stars over the coming months.

Tottenham have real interest in Raphinha

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham’s interest in the Barcelona winger, Raphinha, is real ahead of this summer’s window.

However, there is something Spurs will be waiting to find out first on the price tag as Barcelona need to work out what profit they need to make.

Over the next month or so, Barcelona will have a clearer idea as to how much money they need to create with player sales over the summer.

And speaking to Chris Cowlin, Romano has claimed Raphinha is a player who will likely be sold with Spurs keen. He said: “I think for Raphinha, Tottenham’s interest is concrete. But it’s important to understand how Barcelona’s Financial Fair Play situation is at the end of April/beginning of May. To understand how much they need to make in terms of profit on their players and especially with Raphinha.”

What Pep Guardiola said about Raphinha

Unlike some of the players who are being linked with a potential move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, Raphinha has Premier League experience.

The Brazilian has previously played for Leeds United where he was able to provide 17 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.

His time at Barcelona has not been particularly memorable with just 12 starts in La Liga to show for this season.

However, he is a player who has received big praise in recent years following his time in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola is one of those who lavished a lot of encouraging words on the 27-year-old as he called him an “exceptional” player.

What could also work in Tottenham’s favour in landing Raphinha this summer is his potential relationship with Richarlison.

The pair have just concluded their latest international break together with the Brazil national side.

It will be intriguing to see whether Richarlison could potentially influence Raphinha’s decision making on where his next club could be.

With Timo Werner’s future still not decided in north London, it will also be interesting to see how any arrivals could potentially weaken his chances of signing permanently.
