Tottenham Hotspur are now set to cut one player’s future at the club short this summer and allow him to leave as a free agent.

The 2023/24 Premier League season is now complete and Tottenham are going into the summer knowing they have Europa League football to look forward to.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side have certainly had their fair share of hurdles to overcome over the course of the campaign with injuries providing a significant issue.

Important players like Micky van de Ven and James Maddison have both suffered from long-term injuries which have proved big blows for Spurs.

This summer’s transfer window is going to offer Postecoglou with the opportunity to fine-tune his squad by making some further additions ahead of a season in Europe.

The Australian has already admitted he will also be allowing a number of players to leave and it seems one of them is now set to have his contract cut short.

Tottenham allowing £30m player to leave for free despite having one year left

Spurs are now headed for Australia to take part in a post-season friendly against Newcastle United but a number of players have been left at home.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso are two first-team members who have not made the trip to Melbourne as their futures hang in the balance.

But there is a £30m signing who is also looking set to leave Hotspur Way this summer as a free agent after a tricky spell at Spurs.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are now set to let Ryan Sessegnon leave this summer as a free agent.

The left-back still has one year remaining on his contract with Spurs but his injury struggles have once again ruined his season.

Sessegnon has played a grant total of seven minutes under Postecoglou this season having seen his hamstrings cause him issues once again.

Ryan Sessegnon’s injuries have cost Spurs of a ‘special’ player

Arriving at Tottenham as one of the hottest young talents in English football, Sessegnon was dubbed as “special” by his former boss Slavisa Jokanovic.

However, it has not been the move to north London which he will have hoped for with injuries seriously hindering him on the pitch.

After making the move to Spurs in 2019, Sessegnon has really struggled to make his mark at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Looking back on his time at Spurs, it is probably the best plan for all parties to part ways this summer but Sessegnon will always have a goal at the Allianz Arena to remember.

It was a stunning strike from the left-back and something which Arsenal were unable to do just a matter of weeks ago when they visited Bavaria.
