Bayern Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba has reportedly decided he’s keen on a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, despite interest from Liverpool.
That’s according to 90 Min, with the outlet claiming that Spurs are progressing with a deal to land Tapsoba.
Spurs have enjoyed an encouraging start to the summer transfer window as they’ve moved to bring in Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Manor Solomon already.
Tottenham are expected to shift their focus to their backline next after a season which saw them concede 63 times in the Premier League.
Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven and Tapsoba seem to be the club’s top two targets at the moment. But whether they will opt for one of the two or snap up both remains unclear.
And after De Telegraaf reported just last week that Van de Ven has agreed to join Spurs, it seems Tapsoba is also keen on the move.

Tapsoba keen on Tottenham move
90 Min reports that Spurs were previously concerned over rival interest in Tapsoba, with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United all monitoring his situation.
But the outlet claims discussions with Tapsoba’s representatives are now advanced, with the player keen on a move to North London.
It’s noted that Spurs still have to reach an agreement with Bayern Leverkusen over a transfer fee for the Burkina Faso international.
The Bundesliga outfit are looking for a fee worth around £42.5 million and whether or not Spurs meet their demands could depend on their progress in the deal for Van de Ven.
Tapsoba has impressed at Leverkusen over the past few seasons and has been labelled an ‘exceptional’ defender.
The 24-year-old is comfortable on the ball and possesses the required qualities to thrive under Ange Postecoglou. But Tottenham’s preference between Tapsoba and Van de Ven remains unclear at this stage.

The Spurs News View
It seems that both Tapsoba and Van de Ven are keen on a switch to Spurs and both players would represent a significant upgrade on Postecgolou’s current options.
With Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon facing uncertain futures at the club, the ideal scenario would see Spurs snapping up both Tapsoba and Van de Ven.
But it’s refreshing to see Tottenham going about their business with haste this summer and hopefully at least one new centre-back comes through the door before the squad set off for Australia.
