Conor Gallagher has discussed his future at Chelsea amid continual links with a switch to Tottenham in the transfer window.
Conor Gallagher has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the previous two transfer windows, with a switch also being touted before the upcoming summer market. The Chelsea midfielder brings plenty of energy, as well as an eye for goal.
With just over one-year remaining on his contract with the Blues, as well as questions over their finances, a sale could be on the cards. That is despite the England international captaining the west London outfit this season.
A recent report from HITC’s Graeme Bailey claims that Gallagher is interested in a stay at Chelsea, but is yet to be offered a new contract.

Conor Gallagher on Chelsea future
With a dwindling deal, plenty of discussion has been had over the future of Gallagher in the coming months. The midfielder has outlined his intentions to stay with Chelsea though, during a recent interview with Sky Sports.
“There’s another year-and-a-half left on my contract and I absolutely love playing under the manager,” the 24-year-old claimed. “Playing almost every game has been incredible and that’s all I’ve ever wanted.
“Last season I was in and out of the team and it wasn’t as enjoyable for that reason and also not playing great when I was. I just want to keep playing as much as I can for Chelsea, keep trying to improve the club and try to be successful at Chelsea. That’s the plan for sure.”
When asked about the future for the club, Gallagher continued: “We’ve got a really young squad, a lot of talent, a great manager, great coaches that just want the best for us. I really want to be a big part of it and hopefully get Chelsea back to where they belong.”

Tottenham transfer hopes
The initial feeling regarding a move for Gallagher may well be cold following an interview like that. However, it’s clear that the midfielder has an allegiance with Chelsea after being with the academy from a young age.
Similar has been said of plenty of youth prospects at Chelsea, with the likes of Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham eventually leaving the club. It remains to be seen whether Gallagher will follow, however the dwindling contract will likely be the main driving force behind any exit.
As for what the midfielder could offer Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham side, the answer is energy. With such an intense style of play and the desire to press, the implementation of Gallagher would add another level to Spurs.
Whether he is starting or coming off the bench, the midfielder works tirelessly and has plenty of quality between the boxes, with an eye for goal too.
