Ange Postecoglou informed he could land Tottenham transfer target for just £16M in January

Tottenham Hotspur have just been told how much a deal would cost for one of Ange Postecoglou’s top targets in January.

Postecoglou’s job at Tottenham is coming under some pressure with recent results seeing his team drop into 12th in the Premier League. However, the Australian manager has not been helped by injuries with seven first-team players currently out and most of his available players being run into the ground.

It’s clear that reinforcement are required in January with a central defender and an attacker looking like the priorities for the Lilywhites. Now, they have been made aware of how much one of their top targets could cost.

Tottenham told asking price for Abdukodir Khusanov

RC Lens have set a £12-16 million price tag on Abdukodir Khusanov, according to CaughtOffside. The young defender could be available in January although the French club are under no pressure to sell and could hold out until the summer to sell him when his price may increase.

Tottenham, PSG and Newcastle United have all shown a strong interest in the 21-year-old who has been impressive in Ligue 1. The Lilywhites have had scouts monitoring the Uzbekistan youngster across the first half of the season.

Postecoglou is keen for Spurs to add a defender in January with Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero currently out injured. Khusanov appears to be one of their top targets and they may well test their luck next month in the transfer market.

How good is Abdukodir Khusanov?

In just his second season in top-flight French football, Khusanov has worked his way into Will Still’s team at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. The defender has helped Lens to keep six clean sheets in 11 Ligue 1 appearances this term with his team sitting 7th in the table.

He became the first player from Uzbekistan to play in Ligue 1 last season after joining Lens in a deal worth just £100,000 from Belarusian second-division side, FC Energetik-BGU Minsk.
