Tottenham Hotspur now look set to sell one of their players for a considerable loss in the summer transfer window.
Ange Postecoglou‘s side are building towards a top four finish after their victory on the weekend against Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham didn’t quite have it all their own way at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday but they were able to prevail in the end.
Three points in the bag going into their game on the weekend against Newcastle United which could see Spurs open up a gap on Aston Villa.
And it was some of the club’s recent signings which helped to secure the points with Timo Werner, Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro all proving influential.
The recruitment in north London has been seriously impressive of late with almost all of their signings under Postecoglou playing huge roles under the 58-year-old.
And in turn, some of the players who Postecoglou has inherited have seen their futures come under serious threat.
Players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have not played a great deal of football this season and now looks set to move on.
But he is just one example with an array of potential summer exits from Hotspur Way over the coming months.

Postecoglou does not have 23-year-old in his plans anymore
There are a number of players who it has been made very much apparent that they are not in the plans of Postecoglou.
Some of them may surprise some Spurs fans with the likes of Oliver Skipp now struggling to even get in the matchday squad.
It is expected that Tanguy Ndombele will move on this summer finally having failed to impress Postecoglou in their brief time together.
Giovani Lo Celso and any other players who aren’t pleased with their gametime have already been told they can leave the club in the summer by Postecoglou.
Another player who has been exiled from Postecoglou’s squad is Bryan Gil who joined Spurs back in 2021 from Sevilla.
Having joined Spurs in a deal which cost Spurs both Erik Lamela and £21.5m, the Spaniard has been a real disappointment.
After three years at the club, here is a summary of what he has been able to produce for Spurs.
- 42 appearances
- 0 goals
- 2 assists
- 8 yellow cards
- 2 loan spells away
Statistics via Transfermarkt.
But now reports from Spain are suggesting that Spurs could allow Gil to leave for as little as £5m in the summer.
And the club which Spurs originally bought him from, Sevilla, are expected to be a potential landing spot for the winger.
Spurs have made a number of positive signings over the last year, but some of their signings over the last few years have proved to be huge disappointments.
What Harry Kane said about Bryan Gil is very interesting
Back in 2023, Harry Kane did have some positive things to say about the Spanish winger despite his struggles in a Spurs shirt.
After Spurs thumped Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last season, Kane told The Standard after the game of his delight for the 23-year-old.
“I’m really happy for Bryan. He’s waited patiently for his chance, worked really hard on the training pitch. I say to everyone, ‘just be ready for your opportunity’, and Bryan was there last night,” he said.
“He would have been a little bit disappointed after the last game, but he came out and showed his quality. I’m delighted for him and I’m sure he’ll be ready for the next one.”
