Ange Postecoglou has already sent Tottenham scouts to watch ‘one of the best young talents’ ahead of the summer

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of exciting young talents has only just started under Ange Postecoglou with Lille’s Tiago Santos now said to be of interest.

Since the Australian’s arrival in north London, Ange Postecoglou has seen players like Lucas Bergvall and Ashley Phillips come through the doors at Hotspur Way.

Ahead of the summer window, Spurs are already setting their sights on which young players could be the next to join Postecoglou’s project.

Tottenham eyeing Tiago Santos

According to transfer guru journalist Dean Jones for Sports Lens, the Lilywhites are one of the clubs are showing a keen interest in the 21-year-old defender.

The report says that whilst having sent scouts to watch some of Lille’s talents, Santos is one of the players who has caught the eye of the Spurs representatives.

‘The Lille full-back has cemented himself as one of the best young talents in Ligue 1 this season, helping build out the team’s impressive displays as they compete for the Champions League positions,’ Jones said.

But any potential move for Santos will likely be met by competition from across the Premier League with West Ham United and Aston Villa also named as possible suitors.

The two Premier League rivals are also said to have the Portuguese right-back on their radar after Santos joined Lille just last summer for £5.5m.

Tottenham eyeing new full-back

Recent injuries to Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro has seen Spurs’ options at full-back tested in their defeat against Wolves.

And this is believed to have seen Spurs feel they need to bring in a versatile option at full-back over the summer to provide stronger depth.

The Spurs News have been told Spurs could potentially look at their former player, Kyle Walker-Peters, as an option in the coming window.

A move for Santos in the summer may be seen as an exciting option for Spurs with Jones’ report claiming Lille’s other full-back Leny Yoro already being rated over £50m with Real Madrid interested.

Allowing Santos to remain at Lille for another season may, therefore, be seen as Spurs missing the boat with Lille clearly developing exciting young talents in Ligue 1.
