Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has decided he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur during the January transfer window.

That’s according to HITC Football, with the outlet claiming that Spurs are also ready to offload the midfielder.

Hojbjerg is attracting interest from Serie A giants Juventus, as well as Napoli and Atletico Madrid.

The Dane has managed just five starts under Ange Postecoglou this season and has fallen down the pecking order since the Aussie’s arrival.

The midfielder was previously a key man under former bosses Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho, with the latter signing him for £15 million back in 2020.

But after struggling for regular starts this season, Hojbjerg is seeking a move away from north London before next week’s deadline.

Hojbjerg wants to leave Tottenham

HITC reports that Hojbjerg wants to leave Spurs before the end of the January transfer window.

Sources have confirmed that Tottenham are willing to offload the midfielder on a permanent basis this month.

Spurs will only allow the Dane to leave if a potential deal involves a permanent element, whether that be a transfer or loan with an obligation to buy him this summer.

Tottenham have already received enquiries from Napoli, Atletico and Juve. But all three clubs have asked about a loan deal with no obligation, which is off the table from Spurs’ point of view.

Hojbjerg has been a steady performer during his time at Spurs but just isn’t well-suited to Postecoglou’s demands of his midfielders.

He’s stepped up and done a job when called upon this term. But if Tottenham were able to move the Dane on, it may enable them to sign a more suitable option in midfield before next week’s deadline.

We’ve already seen the club heavily linked with a move for Conor Gallagher and selling Hojbjerg could provide Spurs with the necessary funds to test Chelsea’s resolve.
