Fabrizio Romano claims that Argentinian prospect Alejo Veliz has agreed terms with Tottenham Hotspur ahead of his proposed move to North London.

The transfer insider took to social media platform X on Thursday morning and shared an update on Tottenham’s move for Veliz.

Spurs are stepping up their attempts to re-shape Ange Postecoglou‘s squad this summer as they close in on three signings.

Indeed, Romano has also claimed that Tottenham are closing in on a move to sign Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven, while The Evening Standard reports Ashley Phillips is expected to join Spurs this weekend.

Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo broke the news on Wednesday evening that Spurs have launched a bid to sign Veliz.

And it seems the 19-year-old striker has already agreed to a move to North London this summer.

Veliz agrees to join Tottenham

Romano claims that Spurs and Rosario Central are currently in talks over a deal for Veliz.

The Rosario forward has agreed terms with Tottenham, with his former side insisting he’s loaned back to them for the remainder of the Argentinian season.

Veliz has impressed in Argentina for Rosario and has netted 11 times in 23 appearances this season.

The youngster has also bagged three goals in nine games for Argentina’s Under-20s side.

He’s been described as a ‘dynamite’ forward by journalist and scout Antonio Mango, which would suggest he could be a good fit under Postecoglou.

The Spurs News View

Tottenham seem to have switched their approach slightly this summer as they bid to build a young, exciting side under Postecoglou.

Veliz looks set to have a bright future ahead of him and it will be intriguing to see how he fares in England.

Of course, Harry Kane’s future is currently up in the air and it seems unlikely that Veliz would be viewed as a replacement for the England captain should he depart.

But it’s refreshing to see Tottenham building for the future once again and you would expect us to add another forward should Kane’s move to Bayern Munch go through.
