Keith Andrews is currently making a mockery of the job Thomas Frank did at Brentford following the Bees’ improvements since their former boss left for Tottenham.

The West London club are enjoying their best start to a top-flight campaign, currently sitting in 5th place in the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, across the capital, Frank is under big pressure following a very underwhelming start to life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Frank did a solid job taking the Bees into the Premier League, but following a summer of losing their three best players, Andrews has made them look even better.

Tottenham will now be concerned that Andrews has gone in at the G-Tech Community Stadium and immediately made them a stronger team than Frank did.

Keith Andrews is currently making a mockery of the job Thomas Frank did at Brentford during his time in charge.

After 21 Premier League matches last season, the Bees were on 31 points but were all the way down in 11th place.

However, this term, after the same number of games played, Brentford find themselves competing for European football in fifth.

Would you sack or back the Dane?

Andrews has also improved the team’s defence quite considerably, with the team conceding 28 times, as opposed to the 35 at this stage last campaign.

It’s also the case that Frank had Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard at his disposal, but Andrews was stripped of all three.

Brentford were tipped for relegation after losing so many key players, but they have, in fact, become even better following Frank’s departure.

What makes matters worse for Frank is the fact that Andrews was working under him as a set-piece coach, but is now outperforming him as head coach.

Meanwhile, his Spurs team trails Brentford by five points in the Premier League, having been held to a goalless draw in West London last week.

Thomas Frank issues Tottenham transfer window update

Frank insists that Tottenham are working very hard to improve the squad during the January transfer window.

On Thursday, Frank told the media: “We’re working very, very, very hard to see if we can improve the squad. Johan, Fabio, Vinai, everyone in and around the club, the recruitment department is doing that. January is a very, very, very difficult window.

“It’s very important to get short-term success and long-term success. Everything is linked. So players we are bringing in, it’s because we think they can improve the squad and the team.”
