Guglielmo Vicario walked away from Tottenham’s win over Brentford as a lucky boy having handled the ball outside his area and evaded punishment.
Spurs cruised to victory over Brentford winning 3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although the Bees did take an early lead through Bryan Mbeumo who netted after just 26 seconds.
But their lead and foothold in the game was quickly taken away as the North London club produced an emphatic response with Dominic Solanke levelling up the score.
For most of the game, it was one-way traffic towards Mark Flekken’s goal and strikes from Brennan Johnson and James Maddison secured the three points for the hosts.
But the Lilywhites can count themselves lucky their goalkeeper was not penalised for a clear handball outside his area and Brentford will be furious it was missed.

Guglielmo Vicario’s handball vs Brentford
Guglielmo Vicario in the 58th minute managed to get away without any sort of punishment for a handball outside of his penalty area.
The Italian came out to collect a cross and spilt the ball, he then pushed the ball outside his area and handled the ball once again. The incident was missed by the on-field officials.
VAR took a look at the incident, however, it was not deemed to be the denial of a goal-scoring opportunity and not red.
At most, the incident was a yellow card, but the technology is unable to issue yellow cards, therefore, he was a lucky boy and escaped punishment.
How Postecoglou reacted to question about Vicario’s handball
Ange Postecoglou was not best pleased when questioned about Vicario’s handball and answered as if the journalist was trying to catch him out.
The Australian coach refused to be drawn into giving a response and replied to the question in a very jokey manner with the journalist.
Postecoglou said: “I think I saw exactly what you saw. What makes you think I’m more sure? I was closer to the pitch? You were higher up though. Maybe I saw exactly what you saw.”
