Amanda Staveley has been targeting the purchase of Tottenham Hotspur for quite some time; however, she has had difficulties in finding a consortium to help launch a bid.

The former Newcastle United co-owner has been hoping to buy Spurs since 2024, but has been unable to get the money together to make an offer.

Many Spurs fans are keen for ENIC to sell the club and would love to see new owners come in, but with the club valued at around £4 billion, that is unlikely anytime soon.

Staveley is keen to find a group to help her buy the North London club, but right now, that seems a lot harder than initially thought.

Amanda Staveley is struggling with her bid for Tottenham

Amanda Staveley is finding it harder than suggested to get enough money together to purchase Tottenham Hotspur, according to Matt Slater.

She is trying to find a Gulf state that would be willing to help fund her bid, but at this stage, that has not been possible.

Speaking to The Lab, Slater said: “She has been trying, and the problem with the Gulf is that there are only so many Gulf states. So she’s had a few other scrapes in business involving other Gulf states.

“She’s had a few legal setbacks in recent years as well. I am told by multiple sources that she’s finding it harder than she suggests to find the money required to buy a club of Tottenham size.”

👀With 12 months left on his contract, how much should we pay at the most to sign the £70m-rated Jan Paul van Hecke?

For now, ENIC seem fully committed to Spurs and have already spent considerable money to back their new manager, Roberto De Zerbi, during the transfer window.

Tottenham have bid for Jan Paul van Hecke, they are also looking to sign Savinho and have agreed deals for both Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.

Staveley can try all she likes to buy the North London club, but it looks as though Tottenham fans will be stuck with ENIC for the foreseeable future.
