What Luke Edwards has said about Sandro Tonali’s future
According to Newcastle writer Luke Edwards, his gut feeling is that Tonali will be sold by the Magpies this summer.
However, things won’t be as easy as perhaps is being made out in the press at the moment.
He’s suggested on social media that people inside the club think he will depart St James’ Park this summer, but that any interested party will have to pay what Newcastle value him at.
It’s thought that Tonali won’t be going anywhere for less than £85 million, and Spurs will have to fork that sum out if they’re serious about signing him.
De Zerbi is pushing hard to bring Tonali to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, however, and after previous transfer failures, the board won’t want to get this one wrong.
Tonali signed for Newcastle in 2023 from AC Milan, and he’s become one of the top midfielders in the Premier League since his arrival.
He’s made 110 appearances in total for the North East outfit, scoring 10 goals and claiming 10 assists for the club.
Newcastle won a trophy with Tonali in the team during the 2024/25 campaign, and that winning mentality could be crucial as De Zerbi looks to revive the club.
