Mikey Moore has quickly emerged as one of Tottenham Hotspur’s best young talents following an impressive campaign at youth level.

Mikey Moore scored 14 goals in just 12 Premier League U18 appearances before netting four goals at this summer’s Euro U17.

The winger even worked his way into the Tottenham first-team for the final two games of the year appearing against the champions Manchester City and away at Sheffield United.

On August 11, Moore turned 17 and signed his first professional contract with Spurs, as the North London club offered him terms that demonstrated their strong belief in the teenager.

Now, with his long-term future tied down, Ange Postecoglou has been speaking about what the new season could entail for the youngster.

Mikey Moore impresses Ange Postecoglou in Tottenham training

Postecoglou has revealed that Moore managed to impress him and his staff in training towards the back end of last season. So much so that he was handed his debut for the first team aged just 16 at the time.

The Tottenham academy star was also given plenty of opportunities during pre-season and took it with both hands.

Now, with his first professional contract signed, he looks ready to feature for the club’s senior team.

Speaking to Spurs Official on YouTube, Postecoglou said: “Really pleased for Mikey [signing his first pro contract], it’s obviously a big moment for him, he’s been here literally as a kid, you always like to see that come through.

“Credit to him and his family that he’s got to this position of still being a very young man but already making a mark here at our football club.

“I’ve said all along, that he made a really positive impression [in training] on us at the back end of last year, he’s had a really strong pre-season.”

Ange Postecoglou reveals Mikey Moore plans

Postecoglou added that Moore will be part of the first team next season and will also have the chance to play games with the under-21s.

Postecoglou said: “The plan is to keep him with us in the first team and allow him to continue to develop, there’s still U21 games where he can play as well.

“Last year he missed a large part of the year with injuries, he didn’t play a lot of U21s, so I still think having him part of the first team I’m sure he’ll play some first team games,” the Australian coach added.

The club’s under-21s will be keen to get the forward for some matches as they look to defend their Premier League 2 title.
