Tottenham Hotspur squeezed past Coventry City in the Carabao Cup third round as Spurs came from behind to win in the Midlands.
Brennan Johnson netted a late 92-minute winner against the Championship side to save Ange Postecoglou’s blushes.
For the majority of the tie, Spurs looked thoroughly underwhelming as they failed to muster a single shot in the first half.
Coventry took the lead just after the hour mark as the North London club looked set for another embarrassing early cup exit.
However, on came the cavalry, with Dejan Kulusevski combining with Djed Spence for the equaliser, before Johnson nicked it late on with an audacious finish.
There was one player who didn’t come off the bench and that was the exciting teenager Mikey Moore, much to the frustration of Tottenham’s supporters.

Postecoglou to come under pressure to play Moore
Alasdair Gold expects calls from the Spurs faithful for Moore to play to only get louder the longer Postecoglou’s team continues to underperform.
Despite Tottenham’s wingers ‘ poor performances, the teenager wasn’t given a single minute against Coventry.
Gold said on Football.London: At a time when Spurs needed a spark in the final third and someone to try something different, the 17-year-old was glued to the bench. The game was made for Moore but Postecoglou instead opted to ignore him.
“The calls for the starlet to get some game time will only grow louder from the Tottenham faithful if their current woes continue over the coming games.”
Timo Werner over Moore was Postecoglou being far too safe
Moore was withdrawn from Spurs’ academy game on September 17 to be available for the Carabao Cup tie. The 17-year-old was denied minutes just to sit on the bench and watch on as Spurs’ wingers struggled.
Out wide is where the visitors looked to be struggling the most which in turn left Dominic Solanke isolated up top. The game needed a player like Moore to come on and provide a bit of unpredictability.
Timo Werner was only withdrawn when he picked up an injury and the German was very underwhelming as he failed to create any meaningful chances and continuously gave the ball away.
