One of Tottenham Hotspur’s loanees, who’s having a great season in La Liga, produced an impressive performance for the Spanish national team on Monday.

Pedro Porro is a big fan of his, however, Ange Postecoglou has not been so keen on him having sent him out on loan after assessing him over pre-season.

This £25 million star does not appear to have a long-term future at Spurs although his performances in Spain and for the national team suggest he will have plenty of interest in the summer.

Bryan Gil scores first goal for Spain vs Switzerland

Bryan Gil scored his first goal for the Spanish national team in a 3-2 win over Switzerland as the Tottenham Hotspur loanee produced a quality display for the European champions.

Luis de la Fuente’s team were tied at 1-1 when Gil entered the field and the winger scored a brilliant goal just eight minutes on from his introduction.

The 23-year-old picked up the ball inside the Swiss penalty area beat two defenders with quick feet and guided his effort past Yvon Mvogo.

He is now the first Girona player to score for the national team as he continues his impressive season over in Spain. After the match Spanish media were dull of praise for the Spurs man.

He was given 7/10 by Sport, who wrote: “He scored a very good goal and gave a more attacking presence to the team. Good minutes.”

Marca were left hugely impressed by his display handing him an 8.5/10: “He came on to the pitch in the 60th minute, Bryan Gil arrived, more lively than anyone else, to steal the ball between Monteiro and Freuler, face Comerty and put it in under the goalposts. Bryan’s first goal for Spain and the first, also, for a Girona player. He didn’t stop recovering the ball from the moment he came on to the pitch. What a player…”

Meanwhile, Diario AS wrote: “He scored a goal with the skill that only the Cadiz natives of Barbate, Paquirri’s village, have. That left foot of Bryan’s gave life to Spain.”

Pedro Porro is a big fan of Bryan Gil

Pedro Porro is a particularly big fan of Gil’s and he left him a very lovely message on his Instagram after scoring his first goal for Spain. The Tottenham defender wrote on Gil’s IG: “I love you, I’m so glad my bro. All the work has its reward, my boy!”

Bryan’s career has not been easy following his arrival at Tottenham back in 2021 with the winger struggling to find any sort of consistency.

Having struggled to break into the team at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he has since been sent out on loan on four different loan spells. But now this season, the youngster is starting to finally find some good form for both club and country.
