Cristian Romero has given a cheeky answer ahead of this weekend’s North London Derby.
The North London Derby is just days away and it’s the nerves are starting to sink in. It really is more than just a game of football.
This year is going to be more explosive than ever. Both teams are in electric form and have some of the best players the Premier League have to offer. It’s also Ange Posecoglou‘s first taste of the age-old fixture.
It’s a time of excitement, yet also sheer horror at the prospect of losing. One man who is ice cold, as always, beforehand is Cristian Romero – who spoke ahead of the game.

Romero on title chances and NLD
Tottenham’s phenomenal start to the 23/24 campaign can be put down to some dazzling displays in attack, but the foundation at the back has been as strong as ever.
One of the key principles in this has been Romero. The Argentine is an absolute warrior and has already formed a formidable partnership with Micky van de Ven.
A title-winning partnership? Perhaps. The 25-year-old has clear ambitions for the season ahead.
“This club needs to be competing for the top four,” Romero told Optus Sport. Given the position Spurs find themselves in at the moment, we think this is entirely fair.
However, when probed on possibly going all the way and winning the league, he replied with the following:
“We’ll see,” he said with a smile. “We are treating every game as if it was a final. First up we have Arsenal, and we’re treating it as a final, not just because it’s a derby but because that’s how we want to approach games this season.”
This is the mentality you want in a player. Romero clearly has that winning feeling ingrained in him from his spell with the national side. Let’s hope he can bring that to North London this season.
