Tottenham Hotspur forward Bryan Gil has been lavished with praise by legendary defender Graham Roberts following Thursday’s open training session.
It has been a turbulent time in north London since the Spanish winger landed at Hotspur Way after signing from Sevilla.
And that was summed up on the weekend when he didn’t even feature in Ange Postecoglou’s squad for the victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Bryan Gil impresses Graham Roberts
The Spaniard has failed to really make much of an impression on the Australian manager since he arrived in the summer.
Gil has played 10 times in the Premier League this season, however, those appearances have only been able to offer 189 minutes worth of action.
But it seems as if he may have surprised some on Thursday when the players took to the pitch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for an open training session.
The session was live streamed on the club’s YouTube channel, where Roberts said: “You see players in January say: ‘I don’t want to leave’. You know I’ve just been watching Gil there, he’s the best finisher of the lot. Unbelievable.”

Bryan Gil rejects January move
It is no secret that the 23-year-old was one of the players who was on the verge of leaving over the winter window.
Clubs like Brighton and Feyenoord were just some of the clubs who were linked with the player, but Fabrizio Romano claimed Gil rejected the prospect of leaving Spurs.
It was also said in that update the club would consider his future ahead of the summer.
And it has to be said, his future in north London does not look particularly bright following the arrival of Timo Werner adding further competition on the wings.
Although Roberts may have claimed he was left impressed with what he saw from Gil in Thursday’s training, the Spaniard simply hasn’t offered enough since arriving.
He may return to his homeland and become a hit, but Postecoglou is probably fairly confident he won’t be weakening his squad by selling him from what he has seen so far.
