Tottenham Hotspur’s official Twitter account has sent a message to Dele Alli following his emotional interview with Gary Neville today.

Dele spoke to The Overlap and offered an eye-opening insight into his struggles on and off the pitch over the past few years.

The 27-year-old opened up on his battle with sleeping pills addiction and his mental health, touching on some heartbreaking incidents throughout his life.

Unsurprisingly, Dele has already received plenty of support on social media after telling his story.

The likes of Harry Kane and Jan Vertonghen have already sent messages to the former Spurs star. And now Tottenham have sent their former player a message of support on Twitter.

Kane also took to social media after watching the interview and declared he was ‘proud’ of his former teammate.

Vertonghen reacted to the interview with a heart emoji and two faces holding back tears emojis.

It’s incredibly brave from Dele to speak so openly about his struggles over the past few years.

He’s received plenty of criticism during this period due to a prolonged dip in form, but it’s fair to say that many will owe him an apology off the back of this interview.

We certainly hope to see Dele back in the Premier League this season and doing what he loves the most – playing football with a smile on his face once again.
