Tottenham have some huge Premier League fixtures coming up that could define their race for the Champions League or even an unlikely league title.
Spurs have endured a tough time under new boss Ange Postecoglou, but have continued to show character nonetheless. With an impressive style of play, it has taken no time at all for the Australian coach to leave his impression.
Despite injuries and suspensions, key player losses, and surprises, the Lilywhites have continued to battle at the top. Fortunately for Postecoglou, it seems as though there is light at the end of the tunnel to some extent.
The recent returns of James Maddison and Micky van de Ven will be a pleasing sight before a key run of fixtures. With top four still in touching distance, and the potential for an unlikely title charge, there’s plenty to play for.
With that said, The Spurs News takes a look at the next five Premier League fixtures for Tottenham and how they compare to their rivals.
Tottenham fixtures
Everton (A) – February 3
Next up is a trip to Goodison Park to take on an Everton side that will be battling for their Premier League survival. The Toffees have been hit with a points deduction this season and could soon face another after a recent financial charge.
With Sean Dyche looking to keep their heads above water, it could make for a difficult game in front of a hostile atmosphere. The reverse fixture ended 2-1 to Tottenham in December.
Brighton (H) – February 10
A tantalising tie awaits at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Spurs host Brighton and Hove Albion. The Seagulls continue to punch above their weight, with European qualification in their sights once again this season. The reverse fixture ended 4-2 to Brighton in December.
Wolves (H) – February 17
A run of home games continue as Wolves make their way to the capital in search of three points. The Midlands outfit sit in mid-table under Gary O’Neil and have caused their fair share of problems for opposition teams. The reverse fixture ended 2-1 to Wolves in December.
Why has Chelsea Vs Tottenham been moved?
Tottenham were supposed to travel across London to take on rivals Chelsea at the end of February, however they will have a break instead. This is due to the Blues reaching the Carabao Cup final, where they will meet Liverpool, with the rearranged fixture date set to be announced in due course.
Crystal Palace (H) – March 2
A third home match in a row will see Spurs host Crystal Palace, who have struggled in the Premier League as of late. The Eagles are hoping to steer clear of relegation this campaign, with the drop zone creeping closer. The reverse fixture ended 2-1 in October.
Aston Villa (A) – March 9
Capping off the next run of five fixtures is a tough trip to Villa Park to take on high-flyers Aston Villa. Former Arsenal boss Unai Emery has impressed with the Villains, putting them amongst the teams in the conversation for the title. The reverse fixture ended 2-1 to Aston Villa in November.
