One of Tottenham Hotspur’s best players has just warned Daniel Levy not to sack Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Chelsea.

Tottenham allowed another two-goal lead to slip, this time to their bitter rivals Chelsea who won 4-3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The defeat leaves Postecoglou’s job in danger after his team suffered yet another implosion this season.

Levy is coming under big fire once again for the team’s failure and that often results in the manager taking the fall. But if he were to give Postecoglou the boot, Tottenham’s £45 million star has warned Levy will take action.

Cristian Romero warns Daniel Levy not to sack Ange Postecoglou

Cristian Romero has just warned Daniel Levy not to sack Ange Postecoglou or he will look to leave Tottenham. The defender retweeted a message on X which read: “Oh no, it’s a clear signal that he will leave if Levy sacks Ange, unfortunately, the only two who have ambition.”

Romero has since deleted the retweet, however, it is a clear sign that Romero still firmly backs the manager despite recent results. The 26-year-old’s future in North London remains unclear but sacking Postecoglou could be the final nail in the coffin.

Levy has never been one to take criticism on board so he’s unlikely to listen to Romero’s warning, however, the fact that the players are now turning on him should be a major concern for him.

Speaking after the match, Romero was quick to defend Postecoglou to the media claiming the Spurs players were happy with him and his staff. The World Cup winner claims the team have suffered because of so many injuries this season and results have subsequently taken a hit.

Romero told Telemundo: “He’s a great coach. We saw it in the first season. In this second one, we’ve suffered a lot of injuries. Players are the first ones to be criticised, then if we lose 10 games, the staff can be changed, but nobody talks about what is actually happening. We are very happy with this staff, me and my colleagues. We love how they work and the football they try to play. We’ll try to move on quickly.”
