Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a great summer on the transfer front, making a host of exciting signings.
Several top youngsters, such as Archie Gray and Wilson Odobert, have linked up with Spurs, along with Dominic Solanke, one of last season’s most prolific Premier League strikers.
In addition, Lucas Bergvall has arrived from Djurgarden, while Gangwon FC prodigy Yang Min-hyuk is now on Tottenham’s books and Timo Werner has rejoined on loan from RB Leipzig.
Spurs haven’t been quite so busy on transfer deadline day, but they’ve still made one significant outgoing on top of securing an agreement for a very exciting La Liga talent, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Giovani Lo Celso leaves Tottenham amid Johnny Cardoso first-option agreement
On Friday afternoon, Romano declared “here we go” on Giovani Lo Celso’s move from Tottenham to Real Betis.
Spurs are also said to have reached an agreement with Betis which will see the Lilywhites get first option on Johnny Cardoso.
On Friday night, Tottenham went on to confirm that Lo Celso had in fact sealed a move to Real Betis.
According to Sky Sports News reporter Michael Bridge, the Spanish side will pay an initial £8.4million for the Argentina international, with add-ons and a sell-on clause included.
What about Sergio Reguilon?
There hasn’t been much activity on the Reguilon front, with Kilpatrick reporting around 7pm that the prospect of a deadline-day move was “fast-fading”.
That said, the transfer windows in Turkey and Saudi Arabia are open for several more weeks, so Reguilon could join a team in one of those leagues if a deal can be struck player-side and club-side.
Who is Tottenham target Johnny Cardoso?
Johnny Cardoso is a 22-year-old midfielder who plays for Real Betis and is a United States international.
He was born on 20 September 2001 in Denville Township, New Jersey, United States, to Brazilian parents and moved to Brazil when he was three months old.
Cardoso signed for Internacional’s youth academy and broke into the first-team, going on to make 144 appearances for the Brazilian giants.
He then made the move to Betis in January 2024 and quickly became a starter in green and white, with 22 appearances, one goal and two assists to date.
Indeed, Cardoso made such an impact in his first five months in La Liga that he was nominated for the Young Player of the Season award.
He was in the running alongside the likes of Rodrygo and future Euro 2024 champions Nico Williams, and Yamine Lamal.
Former USMNT star Tab Ramos recently said to ESPN about Cardoso: “Tactically, he’s almost a perfect central midfielder.
“That he was able to step into such a big club that has to win every week, and be able to do that with the calmness that he has shown is incredibly impressive for me.”
