Tottenham Hotspur made their move to sign England’s biggest teenage talents over the summer as they secured a deal for Archie Gray.
Spurs paid £40 million to prise Gray away from Elland Road such was their belief in the 18-year-old’s talent.
Ange Postecoglou has been slow to bed the midfielder into his team having given him just 29 minutes across Spurs’ first three matches.
However, the former Leeds man will have plenty of opportunities to feature this season, with Spurs set to play in four competitions.
Their justification for signing him has just gone up even further with Leeds United’s CEO revealing two European heavyweights who also tried to sign him.

Real Madrid and Bayern wanted Archie Gray before Spurs move
Leeds United’s CEO Angus Kinnear has revealed that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich wanted to sign Archie Gray. He instead agreed a new contract with the West Yorkshire club.
The following summer the 18-year-old joined Tottenham having been given the club’s blessing to leave should a top-six club make an offer.
Kinnear told The Sqaure Ball Podcast: “Archie Gray is one of the greatest English talents in the game at the moment. When he is signing a new contract he and his representatives are not prepared to be trapped in the Championship, they are just not.
“At that time when we did that new contract, Archie Gray could have joined any club in the country. Real Madrid were interested in Archie Gray, Bayern Munich were interested.”
Europa League will be Archie Gray’s competition
Gray is likely to become one of Tottenham’s regular fixtures in their Europa League line-ups this season. Lucas Bergvall is also expected to start alongside him in midfield.
Mikey Moore, Wilson Odobert and Will Lankshear are among the other Spurs youngsters who will also get plenty of minutes in the competition.
Postecoglou could select a youthful yet very exciting side for their ventures in Europe. On September 26, Spurs kick off their Europa League campaign against Qarabag.
