According to a report, Tottenham are set to trigger their option to extend Son Heung-Min’s contract.
Son arrived way back in 2015, for what was just £22m at the time. He’s paid that back ten-fold.
Over 350 games and way over 100 goals later, the South Korean has cemented himself in Spurs folklore as one of the best players to ever feature for the club.
He’s still performing to this day, so much so he was rewarded with the club’s captaincy by Ange Postecoglou. Reports suggest that he’ll be staying a little longer, with the club set to trigger his contract extension.

Son to stay a little longer…
According to a report from The Telegraph, Tottenham are going to trigger a clause in the forward’s contract that extends his contract by a year.
Son’s existing deal is scheduled to expire at the end of next season, but the club hold an option to extend it by at least a further year that they will take up.
The 12-month extension means Son will be at the club until 2026 at the earliest, obviously providing he isn’t sold.
The report does state that Spurs may wait until the end of the season to formally trigger the option over the 31-year-old.
Tottenham are so relaxed about his future and do not want to distract him at all in the meantime.
Great news, which will delight fans
Son has become part of the furniture in North London, and now with Harry Kane departing from the club – is essentially the poster boy for Tottenham Hotspur FC.
Despite a shaley last season, Son’s performances this season are reminiscent of old. The hat-trick against Burnley was definitely the highlight.
We’re excited to see how he gets on for the rest of the campaign. Here’s to many more years of Son Heung-Min!
