Tottenham Hotspur have now found themselves on the receiving end of a concerning statistic following their impressive season to date.
Following Ange Postecoglou’s appointment last summer, the Lilywhites are now playing a much more exciting brand of football.
That can be seen through their league position as they find themselves once again battling for a spot in the Champions League.
However, there front-footed style may also now be seen through a statistic which has emerged ahead of their game on Saturday.
Tottenham 2023/24 statistics
Tottenham have now scored the fifth-most amount of goals (59) in the Premier League this season.
Their north London rivals currently sit top of that tally having scored a further 11 goals (70) so far.
However, Spurs have not been so tight at the back having seen Guglielmo Vicario pick the ball out of his net 42 times – which is three more goals conceded than Everton.
But now an interesting statistic has been shared by WhoScored revealing Tottenham players have been fouled more than any other side in the league.
A whopping 384 fouls have been awarded to Tottenham this season with the likes of James Maddison and Heung-min Son providing a creative spark.

How many penalties have Tottenham been awarded this season?
There has been a lot of positives to take from Postecoglou’s first season in charge of the Lilywhites.
So much so that reports are now suggesting that two Premier League clubs are already showing an interest in appointing him this summer.
The Australian has brought a fresh lease of life to the football on display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season.
But despite Tottenham being the most fouled side in the league, just one of those 384 fouls has provided Tottenham with a penalty.
Along with Everton and Nottingham Forest, Spurs have been awarded just one spot kick all season.
That penalty came back in December when Spurs played Newcastle United and Son put the ball away from 12 yards out.
That is not to say Spurs may feel hard done by not to receive more spot kicks.
Even in the first game of the season, the South Korean was brought to the ground by Mathias Jensen, but nothing was given.
Being awarded just one penalty all season is a far cry from the days when Harry Kane used to play in north London.
Tottenham’s record goalscorer is set to return to N17 in the coming months, you can read more about his homecoming, here.
