Tottenham attacker Richarlison has been ruled out of action due to a hamstring injury.

In mid-January, Thomas Frank was still in charge, and he claimed that it would be seven weeks before the 28-year-old would be in contention.

However, at the end of the month, he admitted it would be a dream scenario to have him back for the North London derby against Arsenal on 22 February.

Richarlison is likely out with a Grade 3 injury

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert and sports scientist, claims that Richarlison appears to be out with a Grade 3 (out of 4) muscular injury.

That is why he has been out for over a month and not a couple of weeks.

The Brazil international could be returning to action imminently, but he is not expected to play a full 90 minutes for a while.

🔮 What is your SCORE PREDICTION for the North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal?

Can Igor Tudor takes points from Arsenal?

Dr Brar does not want to predict when that would be, as it would depend on how he reacts to the bounce minutes off the bench.

He told The Spurs News exclusively: “It’s likely a Grade 3 out of 4 muscular injury based on how long he’s been out for.

“He will still be a ways from playing 90 minutes as he will need multiple matches with bounce minutes to rebuild fitness and rhythm.

“The key parameters will be how he responds to those minutes in terms of discomfort, soreness, etc.”

What does the future hold for Richarlison at Tottenham?

Richarlison has faced significant fitness issues since his big-money move from Everton.

While his goal tally based on the number of starts is impressive, surely Spurs would have expected more from him.

Thus far, he has scored 28 goals and provided 11 assists, and has made 65 starts in all competitions for the North London outfit.

His contract runs out at the end of next season, so Tottenham are not in a hurry to make an immediate decision on his future.

However, if the new manager does not rate him, the club may look to cash in on him at the end of the season, as he could still fetch a decent transfer fee.
