Tottenham Hotspur fans are daring to dream again just weeks after narrowly avoiding relegation to the Championship.

Roberto De Zerbi is wasting no time in strengthening his squad, with Andy Robertson signing on the dotted line already and Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi very close to signing.

👀Who should be the FIRST Tottenham player sold this summer?🤔

Tottenham are also interested in Jan Paul van Hecke this summer, with De Zerbi dead set on reuniting with his former defender.

Despite the influx of signings and links to new players, Tottenham fans still want change behind the scenes, and one legend believes he should get a crack at reviving the club’s fortunes on the recruitment front.

Tottenham fans want Toby Alderweireld to be hired

Over the weekend, it emerged that former legendary defender Alderweireld would welcome the chance to return to Tottenham in a recruitment capacity.

He said during an interview with Standard Sport: “I’m not saying that I will fix every problem, but if they ask me what I think, of course I want to try and help.

“I think I’ve always had a very, very, very good connection with the fans and with the club.”

On the back of these claims, Tottenham fans have been reacting, and it appears he’d be very welcome back in North London.

Tottenham need people who know the club

Ultimately, Tottenham have to get back to the Premier League force they once were under the management of Mauricio Pochettino.

The last two seasons have been catastrophic, and that simply won’t do next season, based on some of the signings that have been linked.

Tottenham could benefit from having former players doing bits and pieces behind the scenes, with Alderweireld one of those who could help.

Hopefully, the 2026/27 campaign is the one where Tottenham get back on track, and it will be fascinating to see if any off-field calls are made this summer.
