Tottenham are anxiously waiting for the return of Destiny Udogie, who is currently ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Udogie last featured as Tottenham lost 2-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on 7 February.

Thomas Frank admitted that he was unlikely to return before the first week of March, adding yet another name to the Lilywhites’ injury list.

Destiny Udogie will carry minor injury risk until the end of the season

While the Italian is expected to return in March, he will not be at 100 per cent immediately, as returning from hamstring injuries can be tricky.

That’s according to Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert and sports scientist, who claims that his injury risk is expected to last until the end of the season.

This is because he’s a high-paced player, and his hamstring tends to be more strained during games.

It also explains why so many players have re-injuries when they return from their hamstring issues.

Speaking exclusively to The Spurs News, Dr Brar said: “If he is out for up to five weeks, as stated, I would expect him back in training seven to 10 days prior and progressing from partial to eventually full training.

“Getting back to 100% following hamstring injuries can take a while, as we know injury risk lasts several months, especially for high-paced players.

“So he will carry a minor risk until the end of the season and would be monitored accordingly.”

Which games will Udogie surely miss for Tottenham?

Igor Tudor would have loved to have close to a full-strength squad for the game against Arsenal over the weekend, but unfortunately, he has 12 senior players missing out.

One of those is Udogie, who is certainly going to miss the North London derby.

The 23-year-old is not even back in full first-team training, so he does not even have an outside chance of making the squad.

He will also be missing the Fulham and Crystal Palace games on 1 and 5 March, but could return in time for the game against Liverpool on the 15th.

As Tudor plays with wing-backs, Udogie is a perfect fit on the left, and the Croatian will be waiting for his return.
