Tim Sherwood has told Igor Tudor how many games he needs to win as interim manager to keep Tottenham in the Premier League.

For the second season in a row, Spurs find themselves in a relegation battle, with them sitting in 16th place.

Unlike last term, the side in 18th place is closer to them, with only four points separating West Ham and their cross-town rivals.

Tim Sherwood does not see Igor Tudor winning the Champions League at Tottenham

Sherwood knows that Tudor will be lauded if he does the unthinkable and wins the Champions League.

However, he does not see that happening and believes that his sole focus will be on keeping Spurs in the English top flight.

In order to achieve that, the former Premier League winner thinks that Tudor needs to win at least three games until the end of the season.

Sherwood does not see him getting any praise for guiding the Lilywhites to 12th place.

In his view, the former Juventus boss needs to go on a tremendous run in order to win plaudits for his time in North London.

Sherwood told Premier League Productions’ Weekend Wrap: “Look, he needs to find three results, three wins, and they stay in the league, and then his job is done.

“But I’m afraid, I’ve said it when he came in here, you’re not gonna get any pats on the back for finishing 12th at Tottenham.

“And it’s 12th for Tottenham, and that’s if he does a very good run between now and the end of the season. Very, very good.

“And can you see him winning the Champions League? I mean, no, is the answer.”

What does Tudor need to do in order to get the Tottenham job permanently?

While Tudor’s remit is until the end of the season, he surely would want to prove that he can handle the job on a permanent basis.

Currently, Spurs have 29 points in the bank, eight points behind Fulham in 10th.

If Tottenham win this weekend, they can start their climb up the table and finishing in the top half cannot be ruled out if they go on a run.

Then, Tudor can turn to the board and show them that he’s managed to achieve results with players who had downed tools under the previous manager.

This, along with a deep run in the Champions League, would make it the Croatian’s job to lose.
