Tottenham Hotspur went down with a fight as they crashed out of the Champions League, and the spirits have been lifted in recent days.

A 1-1 draw with Liverpool was followed by a 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid, with Tottenham going out 7-5 on aggregate against the La Liga outfit.

Plenty now believe that Tottenham have the stomach for the relegation battle and are backing the club to pull clear of the relegation zone in the coming weeks.

Now, Tim Sherwood has suggested that he’d like to see Jack Grealish sign for the club when his loan at Everton expires during the summer transfer window.

Tim Sherwood wants Jack Grealish at Tottenham

Grealish will see his future up in the air when the summer transfer window comes around.

The player will return to Manchester City, and it’s unlikely that they will let him leave on the cheap any time soon.

Everton are fighting for Europe at the moment, and they might well sign him should they reach one of the three competitions.

Sherwood was asked about Grealish, who he managed at Aston Villa, and he thinks that the player would be well-suited to a move to Tottenham in the summer.

He said on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast: “Do you know where I want Jack Grealish to be? Tottenham? They need signings like that.”

Grealish would be risky Tottenham signing

Right now, Grealish is recovering from a broken foot and given that he won’t play again this season, it would be a big ask to expect him to come in and make an immediate impact at Tottenham.

Furthermore, he won’t come cheap, and Tottenham would perhaps be wise to focus spending such a sum of money on players they really need and younger ones at that.

Grealish would also command a sizeable wage, and although he can possess box office qualities, the risk probably just about outweighs the reward.

Tottenham will have to get their recruitment spot on if Premier League survival is secured for another season, and it’d be a surprise if any strategy involved the signing of Grealish.
